The 1972 album "666" was generally agreed to be the best, but it proved to be the last, though the single "Break" was also a hit in Europe. The music that Vangelis was creating for 666 was much more psychedelic and progressive rock oriented than anything the band had done before. Essentially, 666 was Vangelis' concept, created with an outside lyricist, Costas Ferris. The following year Aphrodite's Child surfaced from their Paris studio, delivering the double set "666" wich explored the Bible's book of Revelation against a Prog-Rock backdrop.
